Aniruddha Paul

Ani (Aniruddha) Paul is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB), Europe & Americas. He took up this role in February 2023 to oversee the technology strategy for CIB. He is accountable for designing, building, and maintaining secure and resilient CIB technology and infrastructure to deliver world-class services to clients in over 50 markets.
He joined the Bank in February 2022 as Global Head, Group Transformation Office and has been instrumental in creating a client-centric, data-driven digital Bank.

Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Paul held various senior roles at ING, the most recent of which was Chief Data Officer for the Group. In previous roles at ING he led technology, data, and transformation functions in multiple countries across retail, private banking, corporate banking, financial markets, credit and market risk, as well as support functions.

Between 2000 and 2007, Paul was Managing Director of Cerulean, a software firm supplying e-business services to the global marketplace.

He also worked for several years at Citibank, where he played a key role in the launch of the Bank’s first digital banking initiative, that included internet banking and India’s first debit card.

Paul holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management and an engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology.
