John Tait

John Tait is global managing director of TNS’ Payments Market business. He is responsible for identifying and driving growth across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific regions, and is focused on meeting the unique requirements of TNS’ customers.
Prior to joining TNS in 2016, he was executive director at financial services provider Indue. In 2018 he took the entrepreneurial opportunity to help new business venture Think Procurement as managing director while maintaining his work with TNS as a consultant to its Asia Pacific leadership team. In 2019 he returned full time to TNS to guide the strategic direction of the newly acquired ADVAM business before being promoted to his current global role in 2020.
Tait began his career with the National Australia Bank and over the past 25 years he has had a stellar record of accomplishment in financial services, technology and payments industries across Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
His executive experience includes business development, operations and customer service, strategy, distribution and sales leadership. He has been responsible the creation of Australia’s first non-bank owned merchant acquiring business and the establishment of a joint venture across 11 markets in Asia for merchant acquisition. More recently he played a pivotal role leading the establishment and introduction of the Cashless Debit Card trial with the Commonwealth Government of Australia.
