Pure Storage launched Pure Cloud Block Store™, the first generally available external block storage for Microsoft’s Azure VMware Solution that aims to improve total cost of ownership (TCO) for VMware workloads in Azure.

Pure Cloud Block Store for Azure VMware Solution claims to provide better efficiency and cost optimisation in the cloud by decoupling storage and compute resources. The solution enables customers to scale storage capacity independently of compute nodes and facilitates data reduction with deduplication, compression, and pattern removal to the cloud. Its thin provisioning ensures efficient, optimised storage.
It also claims to unblock VMware migrations to Azure VMware Solution with its ability to decouple storage and compute resources. The solution enables customers to move VMware workloads to Azure VMware Solution, resulting in cost-efficient migration.
Pure Cloud Block Store for Azure VMware Solution enables hybrid deployments and data mobility. The solution allows customers to experience data mobility and create a hybrid VMware deployment.
Expanded partnership
Nathan Hall, vice president of Asia Pacific & Japan at Pure Storage, expressed his excitement to bring this solution to customers in the region.
