Cohesity is expanding its enterprise knowledge discovery assistant, Cohesity Gaia, with AI search capabilities for backup data stored on-premises to empower enterprises to tap into more high-quality data and remain fully in control of their infrastructure.

"Many of our customers require an AI solution for on-premises environments. This solution allows them to maintain complete control over sensitive data while benefiting from generative AI capabilities at the same time," said Sanjay Poonen, president and chief executive officer of Cohesity. "By deploying Cohesity Gaia on-premises, they can harness powerful data intelligence directly within their environment and not worry about any of that data leaving their infrastructure."
Powered by NVIDIA
The Cohesity Gaia discovery assistant leverages NVIDIA accelerated computing and the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software platform.

"By integrating NVIDIA NIM microservices and NeMo Retriever into Cohesity Gaia, enterprises can harness AI-driven insights directly within their infrastructure to preserve data accessibility and security while unlocking new levels of intelligence," said Pat Lee, vice president of Strategic Enterprise Partnerships, NVIDIA.
Enterprise data management
Cohesity Gaia's extension to on-premises environments offers a range of benefits, including robust control and security features. With high-performance AI powered by NVIDIA accelerated computing, multi-lingual indexing and querying, and a customisable and scalable infrastructure.
It also claims to provide prescriptive deployment of the solution on-premises across multiple hardware platforms with reference architectures, pre-packaged on-premises LLMs, and optimised architecture.
Cohesity Gaia for on-premises environments is scheduled for general availability in mid-2025. The solution will be available with leading hardware partners such as Cisco UCS, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), and Nutanix.
