With over 80% of Microsoft’s enterprise customers in Hong Kong already actively exploring AI-backed solutions, the tech giant is poised to roll out enterprise-grade GPT capabilities in the city to enable organisations to unleash the power of AI for business transformation.
"As we continue to strive for innovation and digital transformation in Hong Kong, we are thrilled to bring the latest enterprise-grade GPT solutions to Hong Kong users,“ said Cally Chan, general manager of Microsoft Hong Kong and Macau.
“To enhance productivity and efficiency, organisations should perceive AI as a ‘copilot’.”

Chan added: "As a first step to transformation, we encourage organisations to learn about the benefits of Microsoft’s new AI solutions for their specific businesses and operations, and migrate to a more integrated and secured cloud platform to truly embrace the era of AI."
Microsoft said its suite of AI applications will accelerate AI adoption across key business sectors and industries. It is blending the power of large language models (LLMs) from OpenAI and the AI-optimised infrastructure of Azure to introduce new experiences across Microsoft Cloud. For example:
- Microsoft 365 Copilot combines the power of LLMs with business data and the Microsoft 365 apps – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and more, to unleash creativity, unlock productivity and uplevel skills.
- Dynamics 365 Copilot provides interactive, AI-powered assistance in CRM and ERP for business users to improve business outcomes in every line of business.
- GitHub Copilot leverages AI models in Azure OpenAI Service to help developers accelerate code development with its AI pair programmer.
Building AI workloads in the cloud
With Azure OpenAI Service now generally available, more businesses can apply for access to the most advanced AI models in the world – including GPT-3.5, ChatGPT, Codex, DALL•E 2 and other LLMs backed by enterprise-grade capabilities and AI-optimised infrastructure of Microsoft Azure, to create cutting-edge applications.
Meanwhile, GPT-4 is now available in preview in Azure OpenAI Service and open to access starting from April 1, 2023. Customers and partners already using Azure OpenAI Service can apply for access to GPT-4 and start building with OpenAI’s most advanced model yet.
Azure OpenAI Service provides businesses and developers with high-performance AI models at production scale with industry-leading uptime. Some Microsoft partners in Hong Kong have already built AI solutions with Azure:
- Asiabots – a GPT-powered AI omni-channel solution providing automated and personalised service and engaging unique shopping experience for customers.
- Fano Labs – leverages AI language technologies to analyse customer interactions, discover business insights, and improve operational efficiency for contact centers.
- KBQuest – Revolutionise your back office operations with AI BackOps, combining the power of GPT, Azure OpenAI Service and Power Platform.
One Hong Kong company that has started exploring AI using Microsoft’s AI portfolio is livi bank.
"The use of AI and the development of the technology is an important trend that has great potentials and promises considerable economic benefits. livi bank is exploring the use of large language model to see how it could improve our efficiency and enhance our customer experience."
Gary Lam, chief technology officer, livi bank.
“As a fintech company, we are aligned with Microsoft’s vision in AI of building powerful technologies that can be used by people to help them achieve their goals. We look forward to seeing the application of this technology in the market," Lam added
