Sumsub has launched the Sumsub Agentic AI Council, an APAC-focused, cross-sector forum that aims to drive cross-industry collaboration to develop practical frameworks, advance shared best practices, and promote responsible agentic AI adoption.
“The opportunity presented by agentic AI is becoming clearer with every new use case, but the conditions for responsible adoption in environments with real financial, operational and regulatory consequences are still taking shape, even as they become increasingly business-critical,” notes Jason Chan, APAC Government Relations lead at Sumsub. “Drawing on our work helping organisations build trust and accountability in digital interactions, we have a front-row view of these challenges and see an opportunity to accelerate trusted and scalable AI adoption with the Sumsub Agentic AI Council.”
Adopt, Build, and Govern
The Council aims to bridge innovation, infrastructure and accountability in agentic AI, guided by the following pillars.
- Adopt: Explore responsible, impactful applications of agentic AI across the digital economy, including compliance, fraud prevention, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
- Build: Advance the technical and operational foundations required for trustworthy AI agents, including agent identity, verifiable credentials, secure architectures, traceability and interoperability.
- Govern: Address the policies, standards and accountability mechanisms needed as AI systems gain greater autonomy, helping clarify responsibilities and develop practical governance approaches.
“The conversation around AI often begins with capability. Sustainable adoption, however, will depend not only on what these systems can do, but also on how confidently organisations can deploy and govern them,” shared Mick Amelishko, AI advocate at Sumsub. “The Council will create a platform where experts from different disciplines can share perspectives and help advance approaches that support the responsible development of agentic AI.”
Calling for experts
The Council welcomes cross-sector perspectives and is now calling for leaders and experts from policy, academia, technology, industry and civil society to express interest in participating as founding Council advisors. Expressions of interest are now open here.
The Council will announce founding advisors ahead of the inaugural meeting in Q1 2027.
