The latest IDC InfoBrief commissioned by Expereo found that 51% of APAC organisations prioritising digital sovereignty want to retain control over sensitive and strategic data.
Eric Wong, president, Asia Pacific at Expereo, said: “There is no single path to digital sovereignty across Asia Pacific. Businesses are navigating very different regulatory environments, cross-border data requirements and geopolitical risks, while accelerating their adoption of cloud and AI.”
Enterprise Horizons
The report, “Enterprise Horizons 2026: Global Technology Leaders’ Priorities & Insights,” shows that 65% of APAC organisations prioritise security and cybersecurity, 61% focus on AI or machine learning, and 55% invest in networking and connectivity over the next year.
Control, compliance and cross-border risk are shaping digital strategies, with 51% wanting to retain control over sensitive or strategic data.
Findings indicate that networks are becoming essential for AI and sovereignty, yet only 9% of APAC organisations report their network infrastructure is fully ready, while over half (54%) are mostly ready but still face gaps or weak points.
The study reported that 57% need more flexible or scalable networks, 46% need to improve resilience and reliability, and 37% need networks that optimise cloud connectivity to thrive in an AI-driven environment.
“As AI adoption accelerates, the network will become an increasingly important part of managing that complexity and enabling businesses to operate confidently across the region,” Wong added.
