PALO IT has collaborated with Singapore Airlines (SIA) to deploy an AI software engineering methodology for one of SIA's digital product squads, testing the transformative capabilities of Generative AI in digital product development. The positive results from this initial Proof of Concept (PoC) have led to a plan to further test and scale this innovation to wider IT teams in SIA.
AI-first
The PoC was centred on PALO IT's Gen-e2 (Generative AI Enhanced Engineering) methodology. This approach represents a paradigm shift in enterprise software development, reimagining the entire development life cycle as AI-first rather than AI-augmented. It integrates GitHub Copilot across every phase of a project to streamline the Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC). GitHub Copilot helped generate a significant proportion of the code, enabling the SIA digital product squad to develop a website feature that was ready for user acceptance testing more quickly, increasing code coverage and achieving a higher build success rate at an earlier stage of development.

AI in software engineering
This successful PoC with SIA results from a strong two-year partnership between PALO IT and GitHub, leveraging Copilot's capabilities to take software engineering to the next level by unlocking the full potential of AI in software development.

"We're excited to deepen our partnership with PALO IT and enable more companies to unlock innovation at scale through AI-driven software development, just as we've seen with Singapore Airlines," said Sharryn Napier, VP APAC at GitHub.
