Identity security solutions provider Delinea’s new report revealed that Artificial Intelligence would play a key role in shaping the future of identity security.
The report “Why CISOs Must Prioritise a Strong Identity Security Strategy—and Where to Start” was based on a survey of 300 technology and security leaders. It showed that most (94%) survey respondents plan to adopt AI-driven identity or will do so soon. More than half (55%) have already adopted AI-driven identity or are in the process of adopting it.
AI in identity security
AI can transform identity security by automating identity governance. The technology can help streamline policy enforcement and entitlement management.
Moreover, AI-powered tools can aid in advanced threat detection, enabling faster and more accurate detection of identity-related anomalies.
Further, AI can also help organisations secure and manage non-human identities such as automated systems, AI platforms, and DevOps environments. Delinea found that 28% will prioritise securing non-human or machine identities for the coming year.
Modernising identity security strategies

“Strong identity management has become foundational to an organisation’s overall security posture,” said Art Gilliland, CEO of Delinea.
“As businesses adapt to an increasingly complex digital landscape driven by cloud technologies, hybrid work models, and sophisticated cyber threats, legacy solutions will be exposed. Those who fail to evolve and implement modern identity security strategies risk falling victim to the next wave of cyberattacks, which are more frequently targeting vulnerable credentials.”
