Tencent Cloud positions Hong Kong as a bi-directional gateway for global business expansion, backed by its extensive infrastructure, long-term commitment to the Hong Kong market, and nurturing of the next generation of tech talent.
“Hong Kong represents more than a market for Tencent Cloud — it is a strategic hub for innovation and talent. At Tencent Cloud, our focus is on bringing infrastructure, models, and agents together so enterprises can finally unlock the practical value of AI. We are committed to working alongside the city to drive this next wave of growth with secure, resilient technology,” said Poshu Yeung, senior vice president of Tencent Cloud and Head of Tencent Cloud International, at the inaugural Tencent Cloud Day in Hong Kong.
Bi-directional gateway for global business expansion
Hong Kong’s global scaling is supported by Tencent Cloud’s extensive infrastructure, which has recently expanded to 23 regions and 66 availability zones with new additions in Frankfurt, Riyadh, and Osaka, and a new Cloud Region in Mexico.
Tencent Cloud also emphasises a localised focus and continuous investment in digital infrastructure, particularly in financial services.
Moreover, the company highlights its commitment to nurturing next-generation tech talent through initiatives like the “AI CAN DO IT” hackathon and AI Coding programs like CodeBuddy Boot Camp.
“By fostering collaboration and investing for the long term, we aim to reinforce Hong Kong’s role as a two-way gateway for global business expansion, helping enterprises everywhere modernise and adopt AI with total confidence,” Yeung said.
