A new study finds that enterprises in Singapore prioritise investments in artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud transformation in 2024.
Increased IT investment
According to the 2024 IT Outlook Report, by Rackspace Technology, in association with Dell and VMware, 64% of Singapore organisations plan to increase their IT investments over the next 12 months.
AI tops the priority list, with 64% of Singapore respondents believing in its significant positive impact on their organisation over the next 12 months. Only 1% of respondents have no plans to use generative AI.
The survey of 1420 global IT professionals shows edge computing is becoming a priority, with 30% of organisations saying it will be part of their IT infrastructure in the next 12 months. Around 73% of respondents currently employ a hybrid cloud strategy.
Talent Gap
As companies prioritise transformative technologies such as cloud and AI, the majority (76%) of respondents consider the talent gap a top concern. Organisations in Singapore are struggling to hire 5G specialists (59%), Data Scientists (45%), Data Engineers (41%) and Cybersecurity experts (38%)
