Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced that Amazon Q Developer now supports additional human languages, including Arabic, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Brian Beach, the principal tech lead of Developer Experience at Amazon Web Services, shared in a blog post: “While English remains the lingua franca of programming, the reality of modern software development extends far beyond code…By expanding language support, Amazon Q Developer now enables developers to have more natural, fluid conversations about complex technical concepts in their preferred language.”
Expanded language support
Beach added that the expanded language support will allow developers to design system architecture, generate documentation, or plan application localisation strategies in the language they prefer
“Not only does Amazon Q Developer now provide complete responses in these languages, but it also maintains technical accuracy while adapting to linguistic nuances,” he said,
With new languages supported, Q Developer can also suggest follow-up questions and responses in the user’s chosen language to help retain the developer’s focus and flow without the mental overhead of constant translation.

Expanded language is available in the integrated development environment (IDE) and command line interface (CLI), with support coming to the AWS Management Console soon.
