Changi General Hospital and IBM to build first AI-powered Paediatric Mass Casualty Incident (MCI)

Changi General Hospital (CGH) and IBM are building the first AI-powered Paediatric Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) preparedness solution through IBM’s watsonx.ai and watsonx Orchestrate.

The partnership aims to combine immersive mixed reality with watsonx.ai for real-time scenario intelligence and watsonx Orchestrate for agentic workflow orchestration and performance tracking.

The solution offers real-time performance insights and AI-assisted feedback to strengthen emergency preparedness and improve training outcomes.

The platform features an AI Assessor that analyses voice communications, treatment actions, and simulation data to objectively evaluate emergency response training, identify response gaps, and improve debriefing processes.

Goh added: “This enables better-prepared clinicians, faster and more coordinated care, and ultimately safer, smarter, and more personalised outcomes for patients—especially when every moment matters.”
