“The AI-powered future of work isn’t just about enterprises; it’s also about employees — redefining everything from careers to workplace culture. But to realise the promise of AI, companies need to make AI work for workers and bring everyone on board The AI Team,”said Christina Janzer, SVP of Research and Analytics at Slack, a Salesforce company.

Five personas

The research revealed five personas: the Maximalist, Underground, Rebel, Superfan, and Observer.

Maximalists (25%) use AI multiple times to improve their work and are vocal about it. Undergrounds (22%) are described as “maximalists in disguise” who always use AI but are hesitant to share that they are doing so. Rebels (13%) avoid using AI and consider it unfair when coworkers use it. Additionally, Superfans (23%) are optimistic about AI innovations. Still, they are not yet using them at work. However, observers (17%) watch with interest and caution and have yet to integrate AI into their work.

AI-powered workplace

“As leaders, it’s important that we tailor our approach and help set every employee up for success in the AI-powered workplace. These personas create a powerful roadmap for leaders to understand where their employees are in their AI journey and help them unlock AI’s benefits,” continued Janzer.
