NetApp announced its partnership with Semyung University and introduced its storage solutions through IT service specialist KL Information & Communication.
Addressing issues
The partnership aims to address Semyung University's issues with system failures and insufficient storage space due to outdated information systems and infrastructure. Additionally, the university needed to improve the data backup system and establish a recovery system during cyber attacks.
Semyung University leveraged NetApp's FAS storage system and related solutions in collaboration with KL Information & Communication to ensure data protection, security services, and preparation for disasters and emergencies.
NetApp also implemented its ONTAP Autonomous Ransomware Protection (ARP) feature to detect and generate snapshots during ransomware encryption, SnapRestore, for fast recovery. A backup system utilising SnapVault was constructed to handle various data failures.
Significant improvement
Dong-Hyun Kwon, president of Semyung University, said, "Our university's IT infrastructure has been significantly improved thanks to NetApp's solutions…We hope to continue collaborating with NetApp for future advanced infrastructure projects, including video lectures and remote classes."
"We are proud to bring positive changes to Semyung University's academic operations and research environment through this solution implementation," said Henry Kho, area vice president and general manager, Greater China, ASEAN and South Korea, NetApp. "NetApp's high-performance storage and backup solutions have revolutionized the university's IT infrastructure, enabling faculty and students to learn and research in a more stable and efficient environment. As the leader in unified data storage, NetApp will continue to strive for IT infrastructure innovation through our advanced solutions."
