Snowflake has announced major upgrades to its AI offerings, Snowflake Intelligence and Cortex Code, designed to help organisations move beyond AI systems that simply answer questions toward tools capable of taking action across business workflows, data environments, and enterprise applications.

“AI is changing how every company operates, and the platforms that win will make it easy to put AI into practice with the right data and guardrails,” said Baris Gultekin, VP of AI, Snowflake. “Snowflake gives customers one place to bring their data together, connect the systems they rely on, and turn AI into something that actually helps teams get work done.”
Snowflake Intelligence
Functions as a personalised work agent, Snowflake Intelligence claims to learn individual preferences and workflows over time, delivering more relevant responses and automating routine tasks.
New capabilities include natural-language-driven workflow automation, deeper integrations with enterprise platforms such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Jira, Salesforce, and Slack, and a forthcoming iOS mobile app for on-the-go access.
The platform will also introduce deep research features that generate multi-step, fully cited reports grounded in governed enterprise data.
Cortex Code
Cortex Code, Snowflake’s AI-powered development layer, is expanding support for builders working across increasingly complex data ecosystems.
The platform now integrates with external systems, including AWS Glue, Databricks, and Postgres, while adding new tools such as a Visual Studio Code extension, a software development kit for Python and TypeScript, and cloud-based workflow execution within Snowsight.
