Ensign InfoSecurity and TrendAI, Trend Micro’s enterprise business unit, have announced the results of a joint security testing initiative to validate and strengthen cyber defences against AI-enabled attacks.
“AI is changing what effective security testing looks like. Blocking the first attack is no longer enough if an AI-enabled attacker can adapt and try another route. Our testing showed why organisations need to continuously validate whether their security controls can stand up to this kind of adaptive behaviour,” said Paul Tan, executive vice president of Government & Singapore Enterprises, Ensign InfoSecurity.
Countering AI-enabled attacks
Ensign’s proprietary AI assessment tool tested and validated TrendAI TippingPoint, which uses advanced virtual patching to shield enterprise networks from exploits before vendor fixes are available. When testing defensive controls, Ensign’s AI checks whether alternative attack paths can bypass them.
Ensign’s assessment revealed opportunities to strengthen TippingPoint as threat actors adapt to existing defensive controls.
TrendAI worked closely with Ensign to validate the findings and quickly added coverage to strengthen TippingPoint virtual patching protection.
