PCCW Solutions announced the opening of a delivery centre in Kuala Lumpur and the acquisition of a data centre in Cyberjaya, Selangor.
PCCW Solutions set up shop in Malaysia in September 2019 to provide IT outsourcing and managed services to support clients in Southeast Asia. The new delivery centre enables PCCW Solutions to leverage local technical and business capabilities, while providing multi-country access to help clients accelerate digital transformation.
The PCCW Solutions delivery centre has a capacity to seat about 250 staff. The current team in Malaysia is equipped with skills in application development and maintenance, infrastructure services and service management centre.
The company has completed the acquisition of MyTelehaus Sdn. Bhd. and its data centre in Cyberjaya, inside the country’s Multimedia Super Corridor. The data centre has connections to extensive telecom, Internet and fibre service providers, enabling it to serve as a connectivity hub for local enterprises and global hyperscale providers.
This is the first owned data centre for PCCW Solutions in Malaysia, adding to its portfolio of 7 data centres across Hong Kong and China, in addition to the D-Infinitum global data center alliance with over 130 facilities across 80 cities globally.
Ramez Younan, managing director of PCCW Solutions, said the investments validate the company’s commitment to supporting clients in their digital transformation journey.
Expanding its footprint in ASEAN
PCCW Solutions has been expanding its presence in Southeast Asia, with Singapore serving as its regional hub. It claims to have 14 office locations across Pan-Asia including Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia.
In Nov 2019, the company acquired HCL Insys to strengthen its overall capabilities in infrastructure, cloud and automation, and end-to-end IT services, including application development, system integration, and digital solutions.
