Thai-based fintech company Arise by INFINITAS (Arise) and Google Cloud have entered a strategic collaboration to speed up the latter’s development of an open platform that will enable advance financial inclusion in Thailand.
This latest collaboration between the two companies will build on the successful launch of the Pao Tang and Tung Ngern mobile applications during the COVID-19 pandemic, with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) playing an important role in getting these applications into the hands of 30 million Thai consumers and many small business owners and enterprises.
“Google Cloud’s dynamic autoscaling capabilities and developer-friendly tools truly came to the fore when our teams were working remotely and tasked with spinning up applications for administering financial assistance. The Pao Tang mobile application now has over 30 million users – a significant milestone,” said Jakkrit Klinsmith, chief executive officer, Arise by INFINITAS.
Arise is now collaborating with Google Cloud to transform Pao Tang into an open platform with the goal of providing all Thais with an enhanced customer experience and inclusive access to financial services.
“Pao Tang will offer third-party lifestyle products for improving users’ quality of life. Google Cloud’s leadership in open source, sustainability, and nurturing a future-ready workforce will support the co-creation of the innovation ecosystem that is needed to achieve our company’s vision.”

Nurturing digital skills
Meanwhile, Arise and Google Cloud are working together to equip individuals in Arise’s technology talent incubator with specialised digital skills, so they can apply cutting-edge technology to help address the diverse needs of all Thais.
Arise aims to attract and retain top talent and foster a culture of innovation and creativity. The company has adopted Google Workspace, enabling its employees to collaborate and communicate efficiently, flexibly, and securely regardless of their location or device preference.
To provide Arise's partner network with access to specialised digital skills and expertise, Google Cloud and Arise are working together to launch training and certification programs for graduates and mid-career professionals. The goal is to cultivate a talent pool with deep proficiency in cutting-edge technology to support Thailand’s digital economy.
“APIs and a vibrant talent ecosystem are crucial components for driving innovation at scale, enabling an organisation and its network of partners to develop new experiences for end-users rapidly and cost-effectively,” said April Srivikorn, country manager, Thailand, Google Cloud.
“Through its API-first strategy and workforce development initiatives, Arise is facilitating the creation of digital products and services that can reach a diverse range of people to help them improve their financial wellness and get closer to meeting their life goals.”
