Akamai Technologies announced significant additions to the Akamai App & API Protector product that can detect short distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack bursts and use client reputation scores for improved rate limiting.

It also includes URL Protection to ensure the availability of mission-critical URLs, APIs, and microservices. App & API Protector also features Browser Impersonation Detection, leveraging machine learning to gain insights into the browser to detect malicious bots.
It also simplifies and accelerates self-service onboarding and new application set-up, provides insights to prioritise security efforts, allows customers to look into Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE), assess the threat level, and access CVE details.
Akamai Client-Side Protection & Compliance enables users to adhere to PCI DSS v4 regulations and meet industry and global compliance standards.
Through its advanced Security Operations Command Center (SOCC) Services, users can access personalised support and prioritise escalation paths. It also simplifies operations and boosts analytics capabilities. The solution also includes customisable dashboards, configuration change indicators, webhook alerts, and shortened deep links for more efficient sharing.
