Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong (HTHK) and HKBN Group (HKBN) are expanding of their strategic collaboration in a bid to grow their share of Hong Kong’s lucrative corporate market.

The two companies have an existing Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) collaboration. With their expanded relationship, they want to fill growing demand among enterprise customers for 5G mobile, fixed telecom network services and system integration (SI).

Specifically, HTHK and HKBN aims to provide advanced 5G mobile solutions, fibre optic network and all-round fixed mobile convergence (FMC), and information and communications technology (ICT) services to all enterprises in the city.

Kenny Koo, HTHK

"We are now taking our strategic collaboration to a broader level,” said Kenny Koo, executive director and CEO of HTHK.

“By combining our robust 5G network with HKBN's fixed network services, we can reap the benefits of fixed-mobile convergence with the provision of innovative 5G and fixed telecom network enterprise solutions together. Our 5G network boasts high-speed, ultra-low latency and 99% network coverage across the territory,” he added.

HTHK has launched 5G broadband services in both the consumer and enterprise markets, providing high-speed indoor and outdoor internet access. Leveraging a robust 5G network, HTHK has also extended the deployment of 5G solutions including 5G 4K live broadcasting, virtual reality and real-time data transmission to various verticals.

“The collaboration will not only help corporate customers embark on a digital transformation journey, raise their operational efficiency, but also reinforce our position in the business-to-business market."
