Zoom’s latest report on artificial intelligence (AI) in the workplace, conducted by Morning Consult, revealed that a huge chunk (94%) of employees in Singapore consider time-saving as the top benefit of AI.
Ricky Kapur, head of Asia Pacific of Zoom, said that AI is a new tool in the arsenal of the workplace “to help us support modern collaboration by streamlining workflows, automating or assisting with rote tasks, and more.”
Asia Pacific (APAC) respondents found that 70% of employees said that there are more advantages of AI at work than disadvantages, the highest percentage across regions. Additionally, 73% of APAC leaders are in favor of AI.
Time-saving
The survey of more than 11,000 employees and leaders across eight global markets revealed that 94% of employees in Singapore identified having fewer repetitive tasks and more time to focus on other things as top benefits of AI.
Leaders, on the other hand, said that using AI decreased repetitive tasks, and completed work faster (91%). Almost half of the leaders say that AI made their teams happier (49%) and helped them make better decisions (48%).
AI uses in the workplace
Singapore employees prefer to use AI to automate repetitive tasks (46%), get real-time help during meetings (41%), and summarise meetings, chat messages, and notes (41%)
Meanwhile, Singapore leaders prefer using AI to get real-time help during meetings (39%), improve sound and video quality during meetings (36%), and draft emails and chat messages (35%)
Adoption barrier
“The clear disconnect between leaders’ perceptions of and employees’ attitudes toward AI must be addressed before their teams can fully unlock the true business value of AI,” added Kapur.
