Universal Robots announced the release of its new 30 kg payload collaborative robot (cobot). Named UR30, the new cobot provides lift and motion control ensuring proper placement of bigger and heavier payloads at higher speeds.
Functions and features
The UR30 is applicable for various functions such as machine tending, material handling, and high torque screw driving.
Its high payload brings machine tending to a higher level through multiple grippers that can operate simultaneously. It can remove finished parts and load more material in a single pass maximising time efficiency and productivity.
Its high-torque screw driving can handle higher-output torque tools. UR30’s steady mode feature can address the automotive industry’s need for straight and consistent screw driving.
UR30’s 30 kg payload can handle material and palletise heavy products across all industries. It can fit in small workspaces and can easily be transported to different places with its compact size and relatively lightweight feature.
Production agility
Universal Robots president Kim Povlsen, says UR30 is another step in theirjourney in pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the world of automation. It meets and anticipates evolving business needs helping enterprises to respond and adapt to them.
“The higher payload and greater flexibility underpin a new era in automation. Industries around the world are embracing more agile manufacturing and modularity in production – part of achieving that modularity and agility is about mobility. This cobot delivers that despite its payload,” Povlsen adds.
