A new Salesforce study reveals that 86% of IT leaders in APAC expect AI to increase productivity over the next three years. However, 69% feel ill-equipped to harmonise data systems to maximise the technology.
Integrating and unifying data
According to MuleSoft’s annual Connectivity Benchmark Report, which surveyed 1,050 CIOs and IT decision-makers globally, including 400 in APAC, IT leaders in APAC expect an 89% usage increase in the average number of LLMs over the next three years.
However, 82% of IT leaders admit to being hindered by integration challenges, and 64% are concerned with ethical AI usage and adoption.
“A lack of integration is the top barrier to adopting emerging technologies, especially AI. And as demand grows for seamless, personalised customer experiences, the interoperability of systems is crucial for harnessing the full potential of data, AI, and automation,” said Kurt Anderson, managing director, and API Transformation Leader, at Deloitte Consulting LLP.
Breaking down data silos
IT leaders report having overly interdependent infrastructures (77%), feeling ill-equipped to harmonise their data systems to leverage AI technologies (69%), and struggling to integrate data insights into user experiences (74%).
Only 26% have completely connected user experience across all channels.
API, a lever for growth
The study reveals that APIs have contributed to increased revenue (41%) and decreased operational costs (37%). It can also help increase productivity (50%), increase agility and promote self-service (48%), help meet demands (43%), and continue to help successfully build integrations (51%).
Data integration across applications through an enterprise API strategy will empower leaders to accelerate innovation and operationalise AI to drive business value and growth for the future,” comments Brian Kealey, vice president of APAC at MuleSoft.
