Digital Realty announced the launch of NRT12, its second data center at the NRT campus, to address the increasing need for scalable, flexible, and AI-ready data centers in Tokyo.
“This new data center, designed to world-class specifications, expands our capacity and strengthens our commitment to supporting the growing demand for AI-powered and scalable digital infrastructure in the Tokyo metropolitan area," said Serene Nah, managing director and head of Asia Pacific at Digital Realty.
NRT 12
NRT 12 adds 34 megawatts (MW) of critical IT capacity to the campus, bringing the total to 73 MW per rack. It also includes Air-Assisted Liquid Cooling (AALC) technologies, low-latency networks, and high-speed connectivity, enabling high-performance computing (HPC), machine learning, virtual reality, augmented reality, and AI/Generative AI workloads.
The NRT campus also offers Campus Connect, an interconnection service allowing users to utilise infrastructure across multiple data centers on the campus as a single unit for more efficient data exchange.
Connectivity features
“Coupled with connectivity to PlatformDigital® and ServiceFabric™, NRT12 significantly strengthens our offerings to our customers and partners globally,” said Nah.
As part of PlatformDIGITAL®, NRT12 has access to 1,200 network services, 1,100 cloud and IT services, and data centers globally for secure, low-latency connections and high-speed data transfer.
NRT12 is also a ServiceFabric™ site enabling centralized management of workflows and orchestration of hybrid IT infrastructure and AI workloads from a single point.
It can empower users to access a massive network of cloud, IT, Private AI, and network services to facilitate digital transformation.
