Huawei launched three data storage solutions to help carriers worldwide build data infrastructure: an AI data lake solution, an all-scenario data protection solution, and a DCS full-stack data center solution.
The solutions aim to address challenges in data infrastructure construction in the AI era, such as high requirements for data mobility and the short average retention time of annotated AI data and model data.
AI data lake solution
This solution includes a Data Management Engine (DME), a one-stop knowledge generation toolchain (eDataMate), data fabric, and the AI storage solutions OceanStor A800 and OceanStor A310 that make AI training data globally visible, manageable, and available. It also claims to improve data collection, preprocessing, and training efficiency.
All-scenario data protection solution
By leveraging two layers of collaborative deployment, the solution can back up massive numbers of small files 90% faster than conventional solutions and also supports real-time native-format data analytics.
DCS full-stack data center solution
The full-stack solution is built on virtualisation and containers. It also covers data collection, storage, computing, management, and usage, delivering comprehensive infrastructure as-a-service (IaaS) and platform as-a-service (PaaS).
Dr. Peter Zhou, president of Huawei IT Product Line, said that AI is prompting a data awakening, accelerating the process of data assetization. He affirms Huawei’s commitment to providing storage solutions for all scenarios to serve carriers worldwide.
