Organisations can now purchase a private version of the ChatGPT and no longer risk leakage of private or sensitive data as OpenAI launches a business version of the AI chat bot.

ChatGPT Enterprise offers business-grade security and privacy, unlimited higher-speed GPT-4 access, longer context windows for processing longer inputs, advanced data analysis capabilities, and customization options.

Unprecedented demand

UBS investment bank research named the AI chat bot the "fastest-growing consumer application in history," reaching an estimated 100 million active monthly users just 2 months after its launch. As determined by accounts associated with corporate email domains, over 80% of Fortune 500 companies adopted ChatGPT in their operations.

Cybersecurity Risks

Jamie Moles

Despite its popularity, several analysts have expressed concern over the security and privacy risks of the large language model (LLM).

"The security community at large has raised concerns since late last year about the potential for employee misuse to cause data leakage into ChatGPT, risking the model to train off sensitive information and use that information for other prompts with no consequences, ” says Jamie Moles, senior technical manager at ExtraHop.

According to Harvard Business Review, it affords hackers the English fluency they can use in their phishing attacks. Moreover, cyber attackers could use the AI chat bot to produce a hacking code. The risk of ChatGPT being hacked poses threats like spreading of dangerous false information and propaganda.

ChatGPT Enterprise

Industry leaders like Canva, The Estée Lauder Companies, and PwC are among the early users of ChatGPT Enterprise and are using it for clearer communications among their teams, accelerating coding tasks, exploring solutions to complex business questions, and assisting with creative work.

Despite the new level of privacy, any organization using generative AI tools should still use their best judgment when inputting sensitive information or data into the model, make sure employees have guidelines on how to use these tools for their specific roles, and organizations should still regulate in what capacity these tools can be used.
