Oracle announced generative development (GenDev) for enterprises. This AI-centric application development infrastructure claims to provide innovative development technologies and facilitate applications using AI-powered natural language interfaces and human-centric data.
“Just as paved roads had to be built to get the full benefit of cars, we have to change the application development infrastructure to get the full benefit of AI app generation. GenDev enables developers to harness AI to swiftly generate modular, evolvable enterprise applications that are understandable and safe. Users can interact with data and applications using natural language and find data based on its semantic content,” said Juan Loaisa, executive vice president of Mission-Critical Database Technologies, Oracle.
New key features
Developers can also maximise Oracle Database 23ai capabilities with Oracle Autonomous Database on 23ai, available in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Database@Azure.
The solution aims to respond to natural language questions through retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and AI vector search. It also claims to have broader support for large language models (LLMs) with built-in integration from the Autonomous Database to additional LLMs: Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, and Hugging Face. It also integrates with 35 different LLMs across seven providers.
Moreover, it offers access to NVIDIA GPUs to accelerate specific AI data operations performance, Data Studio AI enhancements, and Graph Studio enhancements.
These components, including an Autonomous Database for Developers, an Autonomous Database for Developers Container Image, and an Autonomous Database for Select AI—Synthetic Data Creation, are designed to cater to the specific needs of developers and AI practitioners, providing them with the necessary tools and resources for their projects.
