Forrester's 2026 Asia Pacific predictions revealed that quantum security will become the top priority for enterprises across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, with most firms (90%) expected to invest in post-quantum technologies.

"In 2026, leaders in the Asia Pacific region will need to recalibrate their tech strategies to factor in local realities while staying globally competitive," said Dane Anderson, SVP of international research and product at Forrester. "From managing sovereignty concerns and addressing quantum threats to operating in a rapidly evolving cloud landscape, regional business and technology leaders are shifting from proving the value of digital transformation to amplifying its ROI."
Quantum security
Key highlights from Forrester's 2026 Asia Pacific predictions include the following:
- For half of businesses, sovereignty will influence AI infrastructure decisions. To manage geopolitical uncertainties and protect national sovereignty over basic infrastructure, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations will adopt "diverse cloud" strategies that include US hyperscalers, Chinese cloud giants, and domestic providers.
- One-third of businesses will squander money on ineffective IT product changes. Many APAC organisations will rebrand delivery teams as product teams to fulfil AI objectives, but this will not truly reform culture or operations, leading to inefficiencies and poor results.
- Chinese hyperscalers will double their growth in APAC due to the EV boom. APAC businesses are expected to increase their adoption of Chinese technology by mimicking consumer preferences that prioritise utility, pricing, and innovation as Chinese electric vehicles dominate regional markets.
- Government-led initiatives (Singapore's National Quantum-Safe Network Plus and India's National Quantum Mission) will focus on migration planning and cryptographic inventory solutions, fueling investments in quantum security.
