NetApp announced new developments in intelligent data infrastructure to accelerate AI innovation. NetApp CEO George Kurian acknowledged the data challenge as a big part of the AI challenge, laying out a vision for the importance of intelligent data infrastructure in powering the future of AI.
“Organisations of all sizes are experimenting with GenAI to increase efficiency and accelerate innovation,” said Krish Vitaldevara, senior vice president of Platform at NetApp. “NetApp empowers organisations to harness the full potential of GenAI to drive innovation and create value across diverse industry applications. By providing secure, scalable, and high-performance intelligent data infrastructure that integrates with other industry-leading platforms, NetApp helps customers overcome barriers to implementing GenAI.”
Intelligent data infrastructure
NetApp innovates intelligent data infrastructure with the NVIDIA certification process of NetApp ONTAP storage on the AFF A90 platform with NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD AI infrastructure. It aims to enable organisations to leverage data management capabilities for their most significant AI projects.
NetApp also envisions a global metadata namespace to explore and manage data to enable feature extraction and data classification for AI, directly integrating an AI data pipeline to allow ONTAP to automatically prepare unstructured data for AI, a disaggregated storage architecture, and new capabilities for native cloud services to drive AIinnovation.
“Using these solutions, businesses will be able to more quickly and efficiently apply their data to GenAI applications and outmaneuver competitors,” added Vitaldevara.
