Nearly 73% of APAC workers reap the benefits of using AI software applications at work

Freshworks Inc.’s Global AI Workplace Report reveals that 55% of workers surveyed currently use software applications enhanced with Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Furthermore, 70% say they use AI at least once a week, and 59% claim to save at least three hours a week with AI. Around 73% of workers say using software applications enhanced with AI at work allows them to get more done, improve their work’s quality, or make it easier to complete.

Freshworks’s global ROI of AI study, which surveyed 1,000 office workers professionals working in HR, IT, customer services and support, finance and accounting, sales, marketing, and legal in the APAC region, revealed that workers in the APAC region use AI for writing or creating content (48%), researching and brainstorming (47%), and data analysis (45%). Some 71% expressed comfort in using AI, and an equal percentage trusted its output.

Privacy and training

Around 51% of APAC workers admit to using free versions of online AI tools like ChatGPT, and only 33% are concerned about where AI sources its information. Workers in APAC doubt the security (53%) and unpredictability (43%) of AI, while 37% said it can be confusing to understand.

The majority (73%) of respondents believe that training and onboarding are necessary for employees to maximise the benefits of using AI.
