In hopes of bringing high-speed internet to isolated areas in the Philippines, PLDT Enterprise, the corporate arm of PLDT, has become the first and only telecom unit in the country authorised to resell Starlink.

“Through the integration of Starlink, we are extending the reach and resilience of our connectivity solutions, especially in areas where traditional infrastructure is limited,” said Mitch Locsin, first vice president and head of Enterprise Core Business at PLDT and Smart. “This advancement reinforces our dedication to empowering enterprises to operate with greater agility, drive innovation, and accelerate their digital transformation, wherever they are in the country.”
Future-ready connectivity solutions

Starlink’s satellite internet aims to address the issues associated with limited connectivity in underserved areas of the country. Industries requiring backup connectivity, mobile sectors, and or those in remote locations can take advantage of Starlink’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technology.
It complements PLDT Enterprise’s fibre, wireless, and managed services offerings. It also adds to PLDT Enterprise’s lineup of end-to-end connectivity solutions, including Managed SD-WAN, Internet of Things (IoT), data centres, cybersecurity, and more.

Nico Alcoseba, first vice president and head of Product Management and Global Capacity Strategy at PLDT Enterprise, said that “Starlink adds another layer of reliability to our connectivity solutions. Since it can route traffic to other gateways found in other locations, it can keep businesses connected even during local terrestrial outages. This makes it especially valuable for customers whose uninterrupted internet connection is mission-critical.”
