Salesforce will offer its premium AI courses and AI certifications free of charge and available to anyone through the end of 2025. Additionally, the company will open a venue for community AI training courses and training on AI tools and agents for employees. The new offerings represent a more than US$50 million investment in improving the workforce and addressing the growing AI skills gap.
“The advent of AI and agents represents the biggest technological shift of our generation and will radically change how people work,” said Brian Millham, president and chief operating officer at Salesforce. “We must ensure everyone is equipped with the skills they need to succeed in this new AI world.”
Addressing the AI skills gap
Salesforce hopes to reach 100,000 more learners through free premium AI courses and AI certifications. Its training platform, Trailhead, recently expanded its free online courses to offer AI-specific skills training such as AI fundamentals, ethical AI use, prompting, and more.
It also intends to open training centres in Chicago, Tokyo, and Sydney to host in-person courses through Trailhead.
Moreover, Salesforce plans to upskill its 72,000 employees by introducing global quarterly AI learning days, during which employees can test the latest AI innovations.
“As with other technological revolutions, AI will transform the way we work, creating new jobs and opportunities – it already has. It’s our responsibility as employers to provide training opportunities to ensure the workforce has the skills to succeed in those roles,” said Nathalie Scardino, president and chief people officer at Salesforce.
