The Nutanix's Enterprise Cloud Index (ECI) survey and research report unveils a promising future for Singapore organisations.
Nearly 90% anticipate breaking even or gaining from their GenAI projects within one to three years. This optimism is not unique to Singapore; it is also reflected across the APJ region and globally (80%).
GenAI adoption is making significant strides in Singapore, with 85% of organisations actively developing a strategy. Key applications such as cybersecurity, fraud detection, loss prevention, and AI-driven code generation are driving this progress.
Implementation challenges
More than 70% of Singapore organisations continue to navigate implementation challenges, similar to their counterparts in APJ (64%) and globally (68%). Recognising the need for modern infrastructure, nearly 80% of Singapore organisations prioritise substantial upgrades to support GenAI applications.
Moreover, despite the rapid pace of GenAI strategy development in Singapore, 31% have yet to move beyond planning to actual implementation.
Unlocking GenAI potential

Ho Chye Soon, Singapore country manager at Nutanix, said that GenAI's true potential lies in its capabilities and an organisation's ability to operationalise it effectively.
"To unlock the full value of GenAI, organisations must modernise applications and infrastructure while embracing containerisation for scalability, security, and agility," he said.
"Many businesses in Singapore understand the urgency of this transformation but face challenges in integrating and scaling GenAI workloads due to infrastructure limitations. We are thus committed to helping organisations accelerate their shift to cloud-native architectures, ensuring they have the agility and resilience needed for seamless GenAI adoption," added the Nutanix executive.
