ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) announced that it achieved 78.5% renewable energy usage across its global operations in 2024, as revealed in its latest Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report.
The company also reported a 22.9% year-on-year reduction in carbon emissions, reaffirming its commitment to reach carbon-neutral data centre operations by 2030 and inspiring optimism for a sustainable future.

“As the digital economy accelerates, our responsibility as infrastructure providers extends beyond growth—we must lead with purpose and innovation,” said Bruno Lopez, president and group CEO of STT GDC. He highlighted key initiatives, including AI-driven cooling and the use of hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) in Singapore.
Sustainability
For the first time globally, STT GDC issued S$500 million in Sustainability-Linked Perpetual (SLP) securities while expanding its Sustainability-Linked Financing Framework to target 85% renewable energy and a 70% reduction in carbon intensity by 2028.
STT GDC also became the first in Asia to pilot an AI-based autonomous cooling system in a hybrid data centre environment.
Milestones
Environmentally, the company has achieved a 66.2% reduction in carbon intensity from a 2021 baseline, with notable gains in energy and water efficiency.
Socially, it maintained a low injury rate (TRIR 0.1), provided 23.5 training hours per employee, and planted 1,000 mangroves in Indonesia. Ethically, all staff completed anti-corruption training, with zero violations reported.
These milestones reflect STT GDC’s commitment to building a sustainable, resilient, and ethically sound digital infrastructure.
