Equinix, Inc. and AiHPC have come together in a groundbreaking collaboration to launch a dedicated open AI healthcare and life sciences platform on Platform Equinix. The Orchestration AI (OrchAI) platform is a result of this joint effort, aiming to accelerate healthcare and life sciences R&D, clinical trials and the application of advanced biomedical technologies in Hong Kong.

"The challenges posed by Hong Kong's ageing population and the city's journey to becoming an international health and medical innovation hub have highlighted the urgent need for new healthcare solutions. Our objective of establishing Hong Kong's first integrated AI and HPC ecosystem is to streamline academic research, healthcare implementation, and cross-border collaboration between Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area and the world," Dr Sam Chu, founder of AiHPC, said.
OrchAI
OrchAI, integrated on Platform Equinix with a comprehensive global healthcare and life sciences ecosystem, is not just about local impact. It aims to accelerate research processes and collaboration by bridging local and overseas hospitals, research, and medical institutions, thereby making a global impact.
It also targets eliminating technological barriers, thereby optimising resource allocation and accelerating research processes and collaboration.
The platform is designed for efficiency, allowing stakeholders to access OrchAI's end-to-end digital services, which include high-performance computing acceleration, data orchestration and manipulation, and edge solution deployment. They can also directly connect to an ecosystem of cloud service providers through Equinix Internet Access and Equinix Fabric for more efficient data exchange across multiple cloud environments.

"This partnership with AiHPC empowers institutions to adopt bolder approaches in addressing increasingly complex and globally interconnected healthcare challenges, propelling Hong Kong's strategic position in the Greater Bay Area and ambition of becoming a global healthcare and life sciences innovation hub," Joanne Hon, managing director, Hong Kong, Equinixsaid.
