Alipay Tap! has launched its first AI-powered payment service in Luckin Coffee’s app and mini programs. The solution enables users to place and pay orders directly through voice commands to Luckin’s AI assistant, marking the first time Alipay has enabled seamless integration of ordering and payment within AI agents.
Payment via AI conversations

The integration allows consumers using the Luckin Coffee app or Alipay mini-program to place coffee orders and complete payments through natural language conversations with Lucky AI, Luckin’s AI assistant. This is the first integrated implementation in China to enable an AI agent to handle both ordering and payment within a single conversational interface.
After consumers select their drinks, they can say “place order”. Following identity verification, payment is processed instantly without leaving the conversation. Before the solution, AI agents could assist with ordering but redirect users to a separate payment confirmation page.
Pu Yu, product director at Luckin Coffee’s Technology Centre, said the integration of Alipay’s AI agent payment solution into Lucky AI delivers a whole new consumer experience, while laying the foundation for Luckin to expand AI technologies into broader service scenarios.
The launch builds on Alipay’s earlier release of its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server in April 2025, enabling merchants and AI developers to integrate Alipay’s payment services into their AI agents, thereby supporting secure and trusted transaction capabilities within AI-driven applications.
