Diffblue launches Test Review, a new feature for all users of its flagship product, Diffblue Cover. It claims to enable developers to edit, analyse, and verify Diffblue’s AI-generated unit tests.

“With a best-in-class product that fully automates unit testing, you might be wondering: why launch a feature that requires some level of manual work?” said Peter Schrammel, co-founder & CTO of Diffblue. “Well, the answer is that not everyone is ready to put their full trust in an AI agent, no matter how sophisticated. We’ve recognised that and wanted to give our users options in terms of how they integrate Diffblue Cover into their workflows – either as an autonomous AI agent or with a more iterative workflow.”

Test Review is designed as an interactive mode in addition to Diffblue’s fully autonomous agent. It enables a more iterative workflow with higher developer input and control levels.
The new feature enables developers to inspect each test, accept, reject or amend it without further developer intervention, automating unit test generation 250x faster than a human developer.
“We hope to win over developers apprehensive about integrating a fully autonomous agent into their development workflow,” said Schrammel. “By lowering the barrier to adoption, developers can ease into an AI-powered iterative unit testing workflow, and ultimately, evolve into full autonomy and the remarkable scalability that results from it.”
