Red Hat, Inc. introduced the expansion of Red Hat Lightspeed across its platforms to power Red Hat's hybrid cloud portfolio with Artificial Intelligence. Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed and Red Hat Enterprise Linux Lightspeed claim to offer intelligent, natural language processing capabilities through generative AI (GenAI) integration.
Lightspeed
Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed infuses GenAI in deploying traditional and cloud-native applications on OpenShift clusters to simplify application lifecycle management and resourcing scaling to meet demand. Red Hat Enterprise Linux Lightspeed claims to help simplify the deployment, management, and maintenance of Linux environments.
“Red Hat Lightspeed puts AI to work instantly, enabling the rapid acquisition of new skills while scaling existing expertise, from building the foundation of the hybrid cloud with Red Hat Enterprise Linux to bringing cloud-native applications to life with Red Hat OpenShift to managing distributed environments with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. Red Hat Lightspeed puts production-ready AI into the hands of the users who can deliver the most innovation more quickly: the IT organization,” Ashesh Badani, senior vice president and chief product officer at Red Hat.
Red Hat Ansible Lightspeed
The company also announced improvements in Red Hat Ansible Lightspeed, such as model customisation/tuning for enhanced quality and accuracy of customers’ Ansible content with customized code recommendations and an enhanced administrative dashboard to view telemetry data around their Ansible Lightspeed usage.
“Automation tools, such as Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, are pivotal in the construction, deployment, and maintenance of cutting-edge telecommunications networks throughout the hybrid cloud landscape. The synergy of generative AI with IT platforms extends existing capabilities and enhances our ability to innovate in automation within our environments. We eagerly anticipate the evolution of these capabilities, not just in automation, but across the entire spectrum of enterprise computing,” Sunny Singh, Fellow - Cloud, Verizon.
