Forrester releases a new report suggesting four short-term technologies that will deliver benefits in 2025. Expanding on its analysis of 2025’s most promising innovations, a new report, Ten More Top Emerging Technologies In 2025, highlights additional advancements that drive measurable business impact, including AI chips, computer vision, digital twins, and explainable AI.
Technologies to watch out for
The Forrester report underlines the significant potential of AI chips to enhance business value across high-end performance, enterprise-scale applications, and edge AI operations, including those in agriculture and robotics.

Charlie Dai, VP principal analyst at Forrester, said: “The surging demand for AI chipsets in APAC will continue, and the key areas include high-performance computing and advanced packaging, government-backed semiconductor self-sufficiency initiatives, and AI-driven innovations in chip design and manufacturing. This fuels significant business value to the AI-native infrastructure hardware as the backbones for generative AI, agentic AI, and physical AI.”
The report also sheds light on computer vision, a technology that automates human sight with computers to enhance product safety, functionality, customer engagement, and decision-making.
Additionally, Forrester also highlighted Digital twins, which help enterprises understand the operation of complex assets and minimise the cost of poor design decisions, and Explainable AI,which builds trust in AI by allowing users to trace its decisions and observe its performance.
Forrester's report also points out that blockchain, personal AI devices, and secure access service edge (SASE) have the potential to deliver significant benefits in the next two to five years.
