Klook and Google Cloud announced an expanded AI partnership that aims to enhance travel experiences with generative AI innovations.
Bernie Xiong, CTO and co-founder of Klook said, “Our expanded collaboration with Google Cloud pushes the boundaries of what’s possible with AI in travel, creating a competitive edge that translates into faster, more impactful improvements to customer experience, merchant operations, and internal productivity for the long haul.”
AI solutions in travel
Google Cloud will collaborate with Klook to co-develop its AI infrastructure layer, initially focusing on capabilities to validate the accuracy and reliability of all generative AI outputs that can benefit customers, internal teams, and partners.
For customers, Klook’s upcoming AI-powered “shopping guide” feature claims to summarise reviews and establish common factors–a first for any online travel agent (OTA) platform in Asia.
Klook’s upcoming solutions aim to help merchants collect business insights and improve their operational efficiency and excellence by summarising user reviews into constructive feedback.
Gemini Code Assist supports Klook engineers by testing and generating code for the Klook platform. Marketing and finance teams are beginning to optimise search engine optimisation (SEO) and bill reconciliation.
AI platform
Klook aims to harness travelers’ feedback and merchants’ insights to develop an AI-powered conversational commerce approach. With a chat-based interface, the platform aims to provide real-time, personalised recommendations for seamless, interactive, and customised trip planning and booking.
“Klook’s shared AI infrastructure layer will maximise the impact of innovations in any part of its business while minimising the risks of duplicated effort and data fragmentation of more siloed approaches to AI development,” said Karan Bajwa, vice president of Google Cloud in Asia Pacific.
