NTT DATA’s study, “Global GenAI Report: How organisations are mastering their GenAI destiny in 2025,” reveals that leaders are transitioning from experimentation to long-term use cases of Generative AI, with 94% in APAC having established “expert” or “robust” GenAI teams.
“The future is clear. Generative AI is more than just another tool – it’s a transformative force,” said Yutaka Sasaki, president and chief executive officer of NTT DATA Group. “As we move beyond experimentation, a tension emerges: move too fast, and we risk unintended circumstances; move too slow and fall behind. Getting GenAI right isn’t optional. That’s why we provide a blueprint to help our clients harness its potential for lasting success.”
Top use cases for GenAI
The study also revealed GenAI's top use cases in APAC, including research and development, personalised service recommendations and knowledge management, and process automation.
In APAC, two-thirds of C-suite respondents said GenAI would improve productivity and efficiency, sustainability and environmental goals, innovation acceleration, security, compliance, and process adherence.
Obstacles to adoption
The top obstacles to adoption in APAC are users who perceive limited value for a GenAI solution, need for user training, concerns about GenAI’s safety and security, and limited or no awareness of the solution.
“This is a powerful point in world history as GenAI is shaping up to be a huge force in our tech-enabled economy,” said Abhijit Dubey, chief executive officer of NTT DATA, Inc. “In supporting and driving this next era, NTT DATA feels an acute responsibility to our clients, people, and society to ensure that everything we design, implement, deploy, and manage is highly resilient, capable, and responsible.”
