Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched an AI-powered Research and Innovation Centre in Singapore, aiming toco-create scalable AI solutions and boost workforce readiness by bringing together startups, academia, and enterprises across the Asia Pacific.

“The centre’s focus on helping local businesses accelerate their digital transformation and training graduates to have in-demand digital skills is aligned with Singapore’s push for AI to be used responsibly to boost productivity and competitiveness,” Jermaine Loy, managing director, Economic Development Board, Singapore, said during the centre’s launch within the TCS Asia Pacific Office at the Changi Business Park in Singapore.
Research and Innovation centres
Within TCS’ global innovation ecosystem, TCS Pace has established a network of Research and Innovation centres across key cities globally. In the Asia Pacific region, TCS has established hubs in Manila, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo.
The new centre in Singapore will explore the application of AI and automation to enhance productivity, operational resilience, and advance innovation, while prioritising sustainability.
Closing the talent gap
The centre will also play a pivotal role in strengthening Singapore’s economy by addressing talent gaps, supporting local startups, and building an adaptable and future-ready workforce.
Through TCS-led apprenticeships and real-world learning opportunities, the centre also aims to address talent gaps, support local startups and advance workforce readiness.

Dr. Harrick Vin, chief technology officer, TCS, said, “These initiatives aim at infusing emerging technologies like AI/GenAI, quantum, robotics, and more to invent next best practices for IT, business, and societal work domains. Given the rapid changes in the industry, staying dynamic and future-proof is a business imperative.”
