"Embracing diversity is not just a moral imperative; it is a strategic advantage that drives progress and success," TTAB's EXCO Co-opt member and lead for the Tech4Good Chapter, Benjamin Mah, said. Â
Inclusive employment
The programme, aiming to facilitate inclusive employment in the technology sector, has two objectives.
First is training and placement, which seeks to equip PWDs with the relevant skills.
Second is advisory services that aim to guide potential employers in promoting inclusivity and embracing PWDs in the workplace.
Embracing diversity
"With rapid technological adoption within companies building a truly inclusive workplace, it's crucial to address the misconceptions surrounding the abilities of individuals with disabilities (PWDs). These outdated perceptions can limit organisations from harnessing the full potential of a diverse workforce, which is rich in creativity and innovation," Mah said.
He is hopeful that increasing awareness and advocacy will allow equal employment opportunities for PWDs.
Transformation Tech4Good Programme projects
TTAB also commits to assisting organisations in identifying suitable transformation projects through the Operation & Technology Roadmap (OTR).Â
The assembly also helps organisations access the Company Training Committee (CTC) Grant, which can provide up to 70% of project costs. The goal is for companies to transform their workplaces and create more job opportunities for PWDs.
