Ant Group’s AI health app AQ gets new upgrades and a new Chinese name, “Ant A-Fu,” conveying good wishes and well-being.
Initially launched in June 2025, the upgraded version of AQ now features three core capabilities: health Q&A, AI health companion, and integrated health services.
Zhang Junjie, vice president of Ant Group and Head of Health Business, emphasized that AQ is designed to support users in managing everyday health questions and building healthy habits.
AI Health Companion

The new updates allow users to log their health status directly in AQ. Users can also consent to syncing daily health metrics integration from major smart device brands.
AQ will also enable users to create health profiles for family members. It claims to track health trends for the well-being of the entire family.
Users can also set exercise, diet, or lifestyle goals, create plans, and receive daily reminders for habits with new companion tools, namely health goal setting and smart reminders.
The app also offers more personalised health Q&A, with AQ’s “AI Clinic” tool that can simulate a real face-to-face consultation. It asks follow-up questions and provides visual prompts for a more accurate explanation of concerns.
Moreover, AQ can interpret images, so users can take photos of skin conditions, medical test reports, and medication packaging.
Not a doctor replacement
AQ is not a replacement for medical diagnoses or professional healthcare services.
The app links users to a network of 300,000 doctors for online consultations, helping them access professional advice and services.
