Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), an Amazon.com, Inc. company, has announced that Sony Group Corporation is using AWS's set of artificial intelligence (AI) services to accelerate enterprise AI adoption and build Sony's Engagement Platform.

"As technology evolves, so do the possibilities for entertainment," said Tsuyoshi Kodera, chief digital officer, corporate executive officer of Sony Group Corporation. "This initiative embodies our purpose to 'fill the world with emotion, through the power of creativity and technology' and represents a significant step toward shaping the future of the entertainment industry."
The move enables Sony to create deeper engagement between fans and content creators and empower its global employees to innovate faster and operate more efficiently.
Harnessing AI and agentic technology
Through Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, Sony can build, deploy, and manage AI agents on its internal enterprise AI platform without compromising security, observability, or scalability. Additionally, the Amazon Nova Forge program allows Sony to build AI for its diverse business and operations.
Sony Engagement Platform
Moreover, the move powers the Sony Engagement Platform that brings together the following core elements:
- Sony Data Ocean: A comprehensive data platform is built on AWS services, including Amazon SageMaker. It provides AI-enhanced insights that help fans connect and content creators understand audience trends.
- Sony Engagement Platform: It leverages the core backend functionality of PlayStation's online service from Sony Interactive Entertainment, connecting gamers worldwide on AWS. Extending the core functions of the PlayStation infrastructure will allow the platform to streamline business operations. It can also create connections between fans and creators.

"Sony is reinventing their businesses with data and AI," said Matt Garman, CEO of AWS. "With 57,000 employees using AI agents that will continue to evolve and expand their capabilities, this is enterprise AI business transformation in action."
