Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is making significant strides in its efforts to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy. A key component of this is the new 10-year electricity development plan (RUPTL 2025–2034), a crucial roadmap that outlines the country's transition towards sustainable and environmentally friendly energy sources.
The plan also underscores Indonesia's unwavering commitment to tackling the escalating waste issue across its cities, employing sustainable and environmentally friendly technologies.
Benchmarking

As a pivotal component of advancing the electricity development plan, a cross-ministerial delegation led by Mr. Yuliot Tanjung, vice minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia, embarked on a knowledge exchange visit to Shanghai SUS Environment Co., Ltd., highlighting the invaluable role of international collaboration in learning from the company's advanced technology, power plant design, and construction philosophy.
Mr. Eric Zhan, CEO of SUS International, shared the company's focus on municipal solid waste treatment, technical support and provision of core equipment to 300 WtE plants worldwide.
Eco industrial parks
SUS ENVIRONMENT also highlighted its operation and investment of 90 low-carbon eco-industrial parks, which include WtE plants, sludge treatment facilities, food waste and construction waste treatment facilities, with a total processing capacity of over 120,000 tonnes per day.
The Vice Minister expressed particular interest in SUS ENVIRONMENT's corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. He was especially intrigued by those aimed at benefiting the communities around the Makassar project site, where a waste-to-energy plant is planned to be built.
