NTT DATA, a technology services provider, has partnered with The GEAR by Kajima to leverage its expertise in digital transformation and turn Kajima’s Singapore regional HQ and R&D hub into a fully integrated smart-building ecosystem.
It is poised to deliver KPI-driven insights that will significantly enhance operational agility, optimise costs and energy, improve occupant experience, and implement enterprise-grade cybersecurity.

“This collaboration shows NTT DATA’s commitment to delivering infrastructure that drives innovation. The GEAR building is now a scalable, flexible environment for current and future needs,” said Png Kim-Meng, chief executive officer, Singapore, NTT DATA.
The GEAR building
The GEAR building targets to become a live testbed for emerging technologies, accelerate R&D and develop innovative solutions. NTT DATA’s solutions reinforced the digital backbone, enabling the building to improve its operations continually.
The solution integrates over 10 disparate technologies into a single, automated stack, anchored by more than 2,000 sensors and over 8,700 live data points. Centralised data and automated workflows aim to facilitate faster decision-making, reduce manual intervention and improve operational agility.
Moreover, remote monitoring and personalised controls aim to improve the occupant experience. To drive significant cost savings through more efficient resource usage, the building deploys energy monitoring and intelligent management systems.
The smart systems in the building support its BCA Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy (SLE) certification by optimising energy consumption, enhancing lifecycle management, and enabling data-drivensustainability practices, helping comply with SLE standards.
Additionally, NTT DATA embedded cybersecurity across all systems, securing IoT devices and data flows to strengthen cybersecurity.

“The GEAR by Kajima represents our bold commitment to shaping the future of the built environment through innovation, collaboration, and purposeful technology adoption. Our partnership with NTT DATA has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life, by transforming The GEAR building into a living lab where smart systems, sustainability, and digital infrastructure converge,” said Luke Wu, managing director of The GEAR by Kajima.
