Red Hat has announced the general availability of Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed, a generative AI (gen AI)-based virtual assistant integrated into Red Hat OpenShift, which aims to enhance user interaction and management of application platform deployments across the hybrid cloud.

It also claims to provide customised assistance directly within the Red Hat OpenShift web console, helping users navigate complex application landscapes.

It is also capable of assisting with tasks such as troubleshooting and investigating cluster resources, leveraging Red Hat's knowledge and experience in building, deploying, and managing applications across the hybrid cloud.
Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed empowers users with its diverse compatibility, offering flexible integration with a variety of model providers, whether it's prominent services like OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, and WatsonX or private AI options hosted on Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI and Red Hat OpenShift AI, the tool claims to provide enhanced control and customisation.

With a unified platform for managing diverse environments, Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed claims to deliver intelligent assistance specifically tailored for Red Hat OpenShift Virtualisation, simplifying the migration from legacy virtualisation vendors. It also aims to ease modernisation efforts by providing readily accessible answers to virtualisation-specific questions.
