Salesforce has announced the general availability of Slackbot, a personal agent for work built directly into Slack, with no setup or training required.

"Slackbot isn't just another copilot or AI assistant. It's the front door to the Agentic Enterprise, powered by Salesforce. This brings AI that is grounded in your company's data, workflows, and Slack conversations, right into the flow of work," said Parker Harris, co-founder, Salesforce & chief technology officer, Slack.

Slackbot aims to provide businesses with an employee agent that has a comprehensive understanding of each employee, their team, and their work style.
Key features of Slackbot include its ability to adapt to users by understanding their conversations, files, channels, and network interactions. It can coordinate tasks across various systems and agents while understanding the context and nuances of communication to offer personalised recommendations.
Additionally, Slackbot assists users with tasks such as drafting meeting notes, project updates, or briefs; finding available times for meetings and scheduling them; highlighting priorities; and setting reminders. It also integrates Salesforce data with Slack conversations and files to facilitate meeting preparations, assess account health, and identify the next steps. By consolidating recent discussions, relevant documents, and customer history into a single, clear briefing, it enhances clarity and efficiency.
Built on the same foundation of trust as Slack itself, this offering respects roles, permissions, and access controls, ensuring it displays only information that users are authorised to see.

"Not only is this a better experience, but it also makes real time for what matters: serving customers, strategic thinking, and driving innovation. AI should eliminate the busywork so people can focus on the work that matters," said Andy White, SVP Business Technology, Salesforce.
